LMM Labs brings together experience in computing, business, and engineering with a shared curiosity about how AI and other computing technologies can solve practical problems. Our foundation spans full-stack web development, data science, machine learning, and cloud computing. We value evidence, sound technical reasoning, and the ability to turn an idea into something useful.

LMM Labs is an independent, AI-enabled research and development accelerator co-founded by Lee J. Farretta (Lee Farretta) and Matthew Farretta. Our applications, research, and development methodology reflect our collaborative work.
Our mission is to combine human creativity, technical judgment, and AI to accelerate research, build useful applications, and share knowledge—with the goal of making a meaningful, positive contribution. Our approach begins with the questions we choose to investigate and the applications we envision. We define the goals, weigh the tradeoffs, and assess the results. That combination of ideation, creativity, and technical judgment guides both our research and the tools we develop.
Generative and agentic AI are integral to this process. OpenAI—including ChatGPT and Codex—is our primary focus, alongside work with and exploration of other models and tools, including Anthropic’s Claude, Google’s Gemini, and xAI’s Grok. Our interests extend to connected knowledge, collaborating agents, and the evaluation and observability needed for dependable systems. Guided by human judgment, these capabilities help a small team explore more ideas and carry promising concepts through development, testing, and deployment.
